Itinerary:

DAY 1: NELSON
Today we explore Nelson, the “Sunshine Capital of NZ”.
We recommend that Wellington participants take the ferry to Picton for a great opportunity to experience the awesome Cook Straight crossing and the beautiful Marlborough Sounds. Your bus will take you from Picton to Nelson via Blenheim and through the wine-growing region of Marlborough. It’s a great way to see the top of the South Island and you arrive in the early afternoon.
If you are coming from out of town by plane you will arrive late morning. We will arrange your transfer to the hostel where you will meet up with the others in the group and your tour leader. We will spend the lunchtime exploring the Nelson market. This market is a very colourful place with many interesting stalls selling all sorts of things. Try a typical German sausage, or a range of authentic Asian, Middle Eastern and even Brazilian foods that are on offer. Or find a special New Zealand gift to take back home to your friends and family, or a great piece of jewellery for yourself.
Once everyone has arrived from the ferry the whole group is heading out for a walk along Nelson’s beautiful waterfront to “Tahunanui Beach”. Here we have time to play ball games or just relax at the beach before heading over to the “Tahunanui Fun Park”, where you can try your skill at mini golf!
In the evening we will go indoor climbing.

DAY 2: ABEL TASMAN NATIONAL PARK
Today we head over to the Abel Tasman National Park by bus and into the park by boat. Enjoy an awesome water taxi ride along the stunning coastline and see where you will spend today. On the way see seals, and if you are lucky even some dolphins. Enjoy a 4-hour walk or book a guided kayaking tour. The walking track from Anchorage Bay to Marahau is beautiful and we will be stopping at a number of awesome beaches in the Astrolabe region, where we have time for a picnic or a swim.
Once back in Nelson city we have dinner together, time to look at our photos we have shot over the past days and a chance to put these up on Facebook. We also have time for fun games and group activities together.

Extra Activity Options:
Sea Kayaking Adventure – NZ$158

DAY 3: NELSON
Today is an active day spent in Nelson before everyone returns home. You can either be part of the group programme or choose from a range of awesome activities that can be booked.
The group activity includes a city biking tour including the Maitai River and Queens Gardens. Then we walk up to the “Centre of New Zealand” and to “Founders Park”, where you can explore the historical buildings of Nelson.
In the afternoon you return to the airport to fly home.
