Day 1: Arrive Christchurch, travel to Dunedin
Sit back and relax while we drive down the scenic East Coast to Dunedin stopping at the spectacular, rounded Moeraki boulders on the beach. Dunedin is the city of the south, known as the Edinburgh of New Zealand wearing its Scottish heritage with pride. It is surrounded by dramatic hills and sits at the foot of a long harbour. You will have time to explore the city including the Otago Museum, Art Gallery and Baldwin Street which is recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the steepest street in the world, with time to go shopping as well. In the evening we will go to an all-you-can-eat restaurant in the heart of Dunedin.

Day 2: Dunedin – Queenstown
On Dunedin’s doorstep you will find incredible wildlife including the world’s rarest penguins and, at Taiaroa Head, the world’s only mainland breeding colony of Royal Albatross which we will explore in the morning. Around lunch time we head off to Queenstown, the birth place of bungee-jumping and adventure capital of New Zealand, if not the world.
Tonight you will be taken on a journey through Maori mythical legends followed by a delicious buffet dinner. Feel the spirit of our proud history celebrated in traditional song & dance. Experience the fearsome haka and the stunning poi display. A unique live show performed by Queenstown’s leading Kapa Haka group.

Day 3: Queenstown
Today is the day all thrill-seekers and adrenalin-junkies have been longing for – a day to continue your adrenalin rush. Jump off a bridge, swing over a canyon, paddle your way through a raging river – there’s nothing you can’t do (as long as you have permission from your parents of course).

Extra Activity Options:

Day 4: Day Trip Milford Sound
Milford Sound is a world-renowned natural wonder. Nowhere else in Fiordland do the mountains stand so tall, straight out of the sea. Luxuriant rainforest clings to sheer rock walls and waterfalls tumble hundreds of metres to the sea below. We drive to Milford via Te Anau where we will board our cruise ship. While we cruise through the sound the ship comes so close to waterfalls that water soaks the foredeck, or drift gently while watching out for dolphins, seals and penguins. Whatever the fiord’s mood – brooding and wet, or tranquil in the sunshine – it will inspire you.

Day 5: Queenstown – Tekapo
We leave Queenstown and head north to picturesque Lake Tekapo. Lake Tekapo and the other lakes in the Mackenzie County are a wonderful opaque turquoise colour, the result of glacier-ground rock-sediment in the water. In the evening we will enjoy some time at the Alpine Springs hot pools.

Day 6: Tekapo – Christchurch – Auckland
Today we return to Christchurch. Sadly we have to say goodbye to the ones who have booked the South Island part only. All the other ones will fly together to Auckland.

Day 7: Auckland
It’s time for some sightseeing in New Zealand’s largest city (often mistaken as the capital) – Auckland. Known as the City of Sails, Auckland is a melting pot of European ancestory, South Pacific and Asian cultures and a strong Maori heritage – the diversity bringing with it an abundance of unique dining and shopping experiences. Indulge in Auckland’s shopping and delicious cuisine and experience some of the many attractions and adventure activities on offer. Whatever your interests, you’ll never be short of things to do in the City of Sails. In the evening you will visit the Skytower at 328 metres high, stand on the glass floor panels and look down on the street below.

Extra Activity Options:
Skytower Jump: NZ$175.00 (up to 15yrs), NZ$195.00 (16+yrs)

Kelly Tarlton’s Shark Cage: NZ$72.90 (15+yrs)

Day 8: Auckland – Paihia
We depart the City of Sails and travel north to the Bay of Islands. With its sparkling bays dotted with pristine islands and hidden coves, this is one of New Zealand’s most popular tourist destinations. Paihia makes an excellent base for exploring the Bay of Islands. From the wharf you can arrange a trip to the outer islands, hook into a fishing expedition or catch a ferry to Russell. Top local adventures include cruising to the ‘hole in the rock’ at the tip of Cape Brett, finding dolphins (and maybe swimming with them) and sea kayak tours.

Day 9: Day Trip Cape Reinga
A full day trip that takes you to New Zealand’s northernmost tip, and on the way you will encounter fascinating landscapes, legends and ancient and modern history, with a dash of fun and adventure. First stop is the Puketi Kauri Forest for a 20 minute board walk stroll amongst 1000-year old Kauri trees. Pass by golden sand beaches at Whangaroa, Coopers Beach, Cable Bay and Taipa. Refreshment stop at Ancient Kauri Kingdom. Other highlights include the Te Paki Quicksand Stream (which we navigate by coach very carefully!), sand tobogganing on boogie boards down the giant Te Paki Sand Dunes and travelling by coach down the vast Ninety Mile Beach. Please note: The tide on Ninety Beach will determine whether your coach travels north or south along the beach. This is at the driver’s discretion.

Day 10: Paihia
You can explore all that the Bay of Islands has to offer. In the evening we will have a delicious BBQ for dinner (minimum numbers required).

Extra Activity Options:
Half Day Kayaking: NZ$75.00
Full Day Kayaking: NZ$95.00
Hole in the Rock Cruise : NZ$50.00 (up to 15yrs), NZ$95.00 (16+yrs)
Dolphin Swim: NZ$50.00* (up to 15yrs), NZ$95.00* (16+yrs)
*Once we find a pod of dolphins, Department of Conservation regulations will determine whether a swim is possible. Swimming is optional, you need to be a confident swimmer. Pay onboard NZ$30.

Day 11: Paihia – Tutukaka Coast
Tutukaka is the base of a famous diving spot, the Poor Knights Island. There are picturesque beaches within the harbour and the road north leads to several spectacular white-sand ocean beaches between forest-covered headlands.
Don’t miss taking part in a very special day-trip ‘A Perfect Day Ocean Cruise’ that offers the ultimate non-diving Poor Knights experience, sight-seeing, kayaking, cave explorations, snorkelling, swimming, sea mammal-spotting, snippets of fascinating history and island facts as well as great food.

Extra Activity Options:
