Meals on all NZdirect International Student Tours include Breakfast and Evening Dinners.
On selected tours lunch is provided as well, however mostly lunch is bought by students individually to allow students to have free time to spend on a variety of activities.

Breakfast and the majority of evening dinners are usually prepared and eaten at the accommodation place. A number of dinners during the tour are catered or eaten out in local restaurants.

The cost of meals is usually not included in the tour price and is paid separately through a meal contribution into a ‘food kitty”, which is held by the tour guide. Your tour guide will compile a meal plan and is also responsible for the purchase of the food from the food kitty.

Students are involved in food preparation supervised by tour guides. This is a great chance to socialize and have fun while cooking and chatting, and students learn about New Zealand food and how to prepare these.

NZdirect International Student Tours ensures that students will have tasty, nutritional meals based on local produce and that tour menus are balanced. Dietary requirements and special needs such as vegetarian, vegan or food allergies will be catered for.

New Zealand is renowned for its fresh, healthy produce. Meals on tours include a variety of New Zealand specialties such as Kiwi fruit, apples, cheeses and locally produced meat and dairy products.

Food safety is very important to International Student Tours. Tour guides ensure that food health and safety guidelines are complied with at all times.
