NZdirect has been successfully operating student tours since 2000. We provide a transport service with full NZ commentary, as well as book activities, accommodation and provide serious fun for our students. We run all tours and programmes strictly in accordance with the requirements of the Code of Practice for international students under the age of 18 years.
Tour GuidesWe’re looking for a motivated, entertaining, energetic, interesting, travelled character to join us as a Driver/Tour Guide or Tour Leader only.
A background in customer services and sales will hold you in good stead, but so long as you have initiative, a can-do attitude and are able to be self-sufficient, you’ll have the key ingredients for a great Tour Guide!
You will have a strong sense of national identity, an appreciation of great Kiwiana icons, and current first aid certificate. A class 2 license and passenger endorsement is advantaged.

Tour AssistantsWe’re looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic, organised and fun loving person who is interested in volunteering to be a tour assistant on one of our international student tours.
You are a student or work & traveller with experience in tour assistance? You have great English skills and speak a second language? Then this could be you! NZdirect covers the transport cost to get you to the tour start and return, and provide your breakfast and dinner for the length of the tour. We will also pay for you to take part in the included activities, as well as getting you discounted rates for some optional activities.

InternsWe regularly employ interns to assist and learn about tour organisation and travel bookings. These internships are offered on a voluntary basis and should be for about 6 months duration.
Desired pre requisites are:
- Experience in tourism or office administration and/or enrolled in tertiary studies in this field
- Good English language skills
- An interest in marketing, especially online marketing
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop and other design software could be an advantage
