Kia Ora! Good to have you aboard the North Island Experience Tour!
The day starts with a flight to Auckland where we all meet at the airport. Enjoy some big city vibes with a visit to the iconic Skytower offering views over the city and above. And if you'd like, you can experience some fun adventure activities in NZ's biggest city or just go on a tour of the city and explore the famous Auckland waterfront.
Included Activity:
Skytower
Extra Activities:
Skyjump, Skywalk, Auckland Bridge Bungy, Auckland Bridge Climb, All Blacks Experience
Today we head to the Coromandel Peninsula. This area is one of quite stunning beaches and bays and very popular as a holiday spot for New Zealanders. It is home to Hot Water Beach, so named because of the hot springs which surface on the sand for two hours either side of low tide. If the tides allow we will take a spade and dig our own hot pool.
Today we will spend another day in beautiful Hahei. You will have the opportunity to spend more time on the beach, go for a guided kayak trip or book surf lessons. There’s lots to do and see.
Extra Activities:
Guided Sea Kayaking Trip, Surf Lessons
We make our way to Rotorua, which sits on the shores of Lake Rotorua and is built over a geothermal hot spot. And on the way we stop at Hobbiton - the amazing movie set from Lord of the Rings! In Rotorua there are numerous natural vents, hot pools and other geothermal features in and around the city. In the evening you will have the opportunity to find out more about New Zealand’s indigenous people, the Maori, when we visit a traditional Pa (Maori village). You will hear about their history and learn about their culture. Traditions such as the Powhiri (formal welcome), the Haka (war dance) and a delicious Hangi (traditionally earthcooked Maori feast) will turn this evening into an unforgettable experience.
Included Activities:
Hobbiton Movie Set Tour
Mitai Maori Village incl. Hangi dinner
Rotorua is a city with many things to explore, so we have a full day here! You can enjoy some downtime wandering through the city, enjoy the geothermal wonders like bubbling mud and geysirs in one of the parks or chose a more action packed activity - the day is yours to shape!
Extra Activities:
Original Canopy Tour, Ultimate Canopy Tour, Skydive Taupo (min. numbers needed), White Water Rafting, Wai-O-Tapu
Today we have our biggest travel day! We make our way to Wellington, the coolest little Capital in the world. On the long drive you'll have views of the central plateau (Tongariro National Park) and we will make a few stops along the way. Once in windy Welly you'll have some time to explore Te Papa Tongarewa, New Zealands National Museum, catch the Cable Car for some amazing city views or check out one of the many Op shops.
Today is the last day of the tour and we have to say our goodbyes! After a yummy breakfast, you'll fly back home and can tell your friends all about the amazing time you had :)
